About Bonita Jewels
Brittany — known as The Artsy Bee — is an artist through and through. Her creativity comes straight from her family’s roots. Her mom, Bonita, was a dance teacher with a flair for theater, beauty pageants, and all things glamorous. She also poured her talent into sewing and designing wedding gowns, dance costumes, and elegant formal dresses.
Over the years, Bonita gathered a beautiful trove of jewelry, fabrics, and fashion treasures — a collection that grew even more meaningful when she passed away. Now, those pieces and memories continue to inspire Brittany’s artistic spirit. And with her sister, Brenna, sharing their mom’s love for dance and performance, the creative spark runs strong through the family.
Our family’s BEE story begins with Queen Bee Betty and King Bee Boyd Buckwell, who raised two busy “worker bees,” Bonita and Betina. Their hive eventually grew to include five granddaughters — Brittany, the eldest, followed by Brooke, Brenna, Bailey, and Bethany. With a family tree buzzing with creativity and strong women, the names Bonita Jewels and The Artsy Bee truly felt meant to be.
For Brittany, jewelry isn’t just art — it’s a way to carry memories, celebrate her roots, and honor the loved ones she’s lost to Pancreatic Cancer, COVID, and Vascular Dementia. Each piece is a tribute, a reminder, and a little spark of the legacy that shaped her.
